Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are a crystal-clear gel form of hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body. The hyaluronic acid holds water, which hydrates and gives volume to the skin.

They are used for wrinkles, and deep folds such as the nasolabial area (lines that run from nose to mouth) and the glabella region (frown lines between the brows.) They are also used for augmentation of the lips and for filling out acne scars and other types of tissue deficiencies.

The application of these treatments is via injection, performed by a fully qualified nurse. As with any injection to the sensitive tissues of your face, you may experience some tenderness or light swelling for a few hours after the injection, but most people report little discomfort and the benefits can be seen within a few days.
